Use the exact TPU for AMS 68D line if you want automatic feeding through AMS Lite. For ordinary 95A or generic TPU, bypass AMS Lite and use the A1 printer’s documented external-spool path.
The short answer
Bambu’s AMS Lite specifications list generic TPU and TPU 95A among unsupported materials. The separate TPU for AMS product page says the filament is 68D and compatible with AMS and AMS Lite. Treat that as a product-specific exception, not approval for every stiff TPU.
| Filament line | AMS Lite path | What Bambu lists |
|---|---|---|
| Bambu TPU for AMS, 68D | AMS Lite | Compatible on its product page. |
| Bambu TPU 95A HF or generic TPU | AMS Lite | Unsupported on the AMS Lite specifications. |
Why does one TPU line differ?
The product names and hardness labels matter. Bambu describes its AMS-specific TPU as 68D; its TPU 95A HF is a different, softer product and is marked incompatible with AMS Lite. Shore A and Shore D readings are different scales, so do not treat 68D as a direct numerical conversion from 95A.
Owner discussion on the Bambu community forum also distinguishes the AMS-specific line from 95A and describes external feeding for softer TPU. Those reports are individual experiences; the product page and printer manual remain the loading references.
Before loading the spool
- Confirm the label says TPU for AMS, not simply TPU or TPU 95A.
- Check spool width and hub against the AMS Lite spool-size limits.
- Follow Bambu’s current product drying and loading instructions for that line.
- For other TPU, check the A1 manual for its external spool route; do not force soft filament through AMS Lite.
For a wider model-by-model view, use the feeder compatibility table. For the hardness comparison, read TPU for AMS versus TPU 95A.
Common questions
Can AMS Lite print TPU?
Bambu lists its TPU for AMS 68D line as compatible with AMS Lite. It lists generic TPU and TPU 95A as unsupported through AMS Lite.
Can I feed TPU 95A through AMS Lite?
No. Bambu lists TPU 95A as unsupported through AMS Lite. Use the printer’s documented external-spool path for that material.
Is TPU for AMS the same filament as TPU 95A?
No. They are separate Bambu product lines. TPU for AMS is rated 68D; TPU 95A HF is a different, softer line.
