Match the dryer to the spool schedule

A dryer’s maximum matters only when the exact filament calls for a temperature near it. For two product-specific examples, OVERTURE PETG lists 60°C for 5 hours and OVERTURE TPU lists 70°C for 8 hours. Those are examples for those product lines, not universal PETG or TPU settings. A 50°C maximum cannot meet a schedule that specifies more than 50°C.

Capacity and rotation

EIBOS lists a rotation function and spool clearances for the Polyphemus. The larger clearance requires the expansion parts. Follow the device manual for loading, drying, and print-through operation; a product’s highest setting is not a material schedule.

For four-spool capacity or separate temperature zones, compare the Creality Space Pi X4 and SUNLU S4. For larger reels, see the 3 kg drying and feeding setup. If PETG still strings after a credible drying cycle, use the PETG troubleshooting guide.

A single-spool dryer may be enough when you print one material at a time. If you need four positions, compare the four-spool dryer guide; if a spool needs more clearance than its selected dryer publishes, do not force it into the chamber.

Common questions

Which is better for a single printer: SUNLU S2 or Creality Space Pi?

Both are listed for one spool and up to 70°C. SUNLU lists 48 W maximum working power for the S2; Creality lists 145 W power consumption for Space Pi. Power figures alone do not establish drying speed, so choose by the exact spool schedule, controls, and fit.

Can the EIBOS Polyphemus fit a 3 kg spool?

EIBOS lists up to Ø250 × 170 mm when the expansion parts are installed. Check the actual spool dimensions and confirm the selected package includes those parts.

Why can a 50°C maximum be limiting for PETG or TPU?

Some exact product schedules specify more than 50°C. For example, OVERTURE lists 60°C for its PETG and 70°C for its TPU. Follow the schedule for your own spool; those values do not apply to every product in either material family.
